At the Munich Security Conference on Friday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock pledged to strengthen communication and coordination for international peace and stability.
Wang Yi emphasized that multipolarization is an inevitable trend in global development. He expressed China’s readiness to work closely with Germany and other nations to build broad consensus and speak with one voice against rising protectionism and unilateral actions. “China hopes Germany will play an important role in the process of world multipolarization,” Wang said.
The Chinese Foreign Minister highlighted the positive momentum of China-Germany relations, noting their significance in maintaining stability in China-European Union ties. He affirmed China’s commitment to enhancing dialogue and cooperation with Germany to inject fresh energy into their bilateral relationship.
Addressing global challenges, Wang Yi stated, “China is firmly committed to the path of green transformation and sustainable development.” He expressed willingness to collaborate with Germany on issues like climate change and other pressing global concerns.
Annalena Baerbock, for her part, underscored Germany’s dedication to deepening exchanges and cooperation with China across various fields. She affirmed that Germany adheres to the one-China policy and is eager to expand shared interests, becoming reliable partners with China.
Baerbock added that Germany opposes tariff and trade wars and is ready to uphold multilateralism and free trade alongside China. She looked forward to increased coordination on green development and other international issues.
The two leaders also exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis and other pressing matters, signaling a mutual desire to address global challenges through cooperation.
