Chinese Superconducting Quantum Computer Gets over 20 M Global Visits

China’s Quantum Computer ‘Origin Wukong’ Surpasses 20 Million Global Visits

China’s cutting-edge quantum computer, Origin Wukong, has reached a remarkable milestone by attracting over 20 million remote visits from around the world, according to the China Science and Technology Daily.

Developed independently, Origin Wukong is China’s third-generation superconducting quantum computer powered by a 72-qubit indigenous superconducting quantum chip named Wukong. Since its launch on January 6, 2023, the quantum computer has completed more than 339,000 quantum computing tasks across various industries, including finance and biomedicine.

The Anhui Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center reported that users from 139 countries and regions have accessed Origin Wukong remotely. The United States, Russia, Japan, and Canada are among the top foreign users, with the U.S. leading in user visits.

The name Wukong draws inspiration from Sun Wukong, the legendary Monkey King from Chinese mythology, who could transform into 72 different forms. This symbolizes the computer’s powerful and versatile capabilities, reflecting the advancements in China’s quantum computing technology.

Origin Wukong is one of the country’s most advanced programmable superconducting quantum computers, marking a significant step in global quantum computing development. Its widespread use signifies the growing interest and collaboration in quantum technologies worldwide.
