China and Hungary’s Foreign Ministers Celebrate Strengthening Ties at UN Meeting

At the United Nations headquarters in New York on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Hungarian counterpart, Peter Szijjarto, praised the growing friendship between their nations and committed to further strengthening bilateral relations.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, expressed his appreciation for Hungary’s perspective on China as an opportunity for development. He emphasized that, despite changes in the international climate, China will always remain a trustworthy partner for Hungary.

“We’re committed to deepening our cooperation with Hungary,” Wang said. “Our partnership is built on mutual respect and shared goals.”

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe. Wang highlighted his belief that Hungary will continue to play a constructive role in fostering healthy and stable China-Europe relations.

Peter Szijjarto echoed these sentiments, stating that Hungary values its friendship with China and is pleased with the achievements made through high-level exchanges and practical cooperation across various fields.

“Our relationship with China has brought remarkable results,” Szijjarto said. “We’re ready to elevate our collaboration to new heights.”

Both ministers agreed that effective cooperation between Europe and China serves the common interests of all parties. Szijjarto affirmed Hungary’s commitment to promoting the development of Europe-China relations.

The meeting underscored the importance of international partnerships in addressing global challenges and advancing mutual prosperity.
