China and Uganda Commit to Deepening Strategic Partnership

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Ugandan Foreign Minister Jeje Odongo met at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Tuesday, pledging to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between their countries.

“China is ready to enhance its cooperation with Uganda,” Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said during the meeting. “We will always be a sincere friend and reliable partner on Uganda’s path to development and revitalization.”

Wang highlighted the longstanding relationship between China and Uganda, emphasizing mutual respect, trust, and support. He expressed China’s commitment to working closely with Uganda to achieve shared development goals.

Odongo praised China’s achievements under the CPC and expressed interest in learning from China’s modernization efforts. “Uganda views China as a trustworthy and dependable partner,” he said. “We admire the progress China has made and hope to learn from your development path.”

The meeting underscores strengthening ties between the two nations, focusing on collaborative efforts to promote economic growth and development.
