New York (UN) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged China and the United States to find the right way to get along during a high-level UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting in New York, Wang emphasized the importance of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation between the two nations. He highlighted that China and the U.S. share numerous common interests and have broad space for collaboration.
“The two sides should earnestly respect each other’s core interests, strengthen communication, build trust, fend off distractions, and overcome obstacles,” Wang said during his conversation with representatives of American society. “This will help improve and stabilize China-U.S. relations.”
Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stressed that strengthening ties would benefit not only both countries but also contribute to global stability.
The call comes amid ongoing discussions about how the two major powers can navigate their differences while working together on global challenges such as climate change, economic recovery, and international security.
