Tragic Boat Collision in Central China Leaves 2 Dead, 14 Missing

A tragic boat collision on a river in central China’s Hunan Province has left two people dead and 14 others missing, local authorities reported on Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. in Qinglang Township, Yuanling County, when a passenger boat collided with an oil waste recovery vessel on the Yuanshui River. The impact caused the passenger boat to capsize and sink, throwing all 19 people on board into the water.

Rescue teams managed to save three survivors, who have been hospitalized and are in stable condition. Sadly, two bodies have been recovered, and efforts are underway to locate the remaining 14 missing individuals.

Over 60 rescue workers and more than 10 boats have been deployed in the search operation. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

This tragic incident has shaken the local community, and our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected.
