In a bid to enhance cooperation and mutual growth, China’s top legislator Zhao Leji met with Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan, chairman of Mongolia’s State Great Hural (Parliament), in Beijing on Tuesday. The two leaders agreed to strengthen exchanges between their national and local legislatures, marking a new chapter in China-Mongolia relations.

Zhao Leji, chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, highlighted the fruitful results achieved in recent years under the strategic guidance of both nations’ heads of state. “China is committed to working with Mongolia to implement the important consensus reached by our leaders,” Zhao said. He emphasized the construction of a China-Mongolia community with a shared future as a guiding principle for their partnership.

The Chinese legislator underscored the significance of good-neighborliness and friendship, stating that it aligns with the fundamental interests of both peoples. He called for mutual benefits and strengthened cooperation across various fields, urging both countries to “work together to safeguard the UN-centered international system.”

Amarbayasgalan echoed Zhao’s sentiments, reaffirming Mongolia’s firm adherence to the one-China principle. “We are ready to deepen the synergy of our development strategies and enhance cooperation in transportation, energy, agriculture, and electric vehicles,” he said. The Mongolian parliament leader expressed his willingness to enhance friendly exchanges with China’s NPC and leverage the regular exchange mechanism to promote their comprehensive strategic partnership.

The meeting signifies a mutual commitment to sustained growth and development. Both sides aim to contribute positively to regional stability and prosperity through enhanced legislative collaboration.
