Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters met in Beijing on Wednesday to strengthen bilateral relations.
Han Zheng noted that the recent meeting between their leaders during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting last November provided strategic guidance for the continued development of China-New Zealand relations. As their comprehensive strategic partnership enters its second decade, Han emphasized China’s commitment to enhancing mutual understanding and working with New Zealand to implement the important consensus reached by their leaders. He expressed a desire to promote the sustained, sound, and steady growth of their partnership.
Winston Peters affirmed New Zealand’s dedication to deepening ties with China. He expressed willingness to strengthen dialogue, enhance understanding, and expand economic and trade cooperation, positioning New Zealand as an active partner of China.
