Chengdu Unveils ‘Bamboo Dream’ Torch for 2025 World Games

The organizers of the upcoming World Games in Chengdu, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, have unveiled the official torch named “Zhumeng,” or “Bamboo Dream.” This marks the first torch in the event’s history, capturing the essence of China’s rich cultural heritage and its vision for the future.

Standing at 72 centimeters tall, the torch’s design draws inspiration from the ancient Shu civilization of Sichuan. It incorporates elements from the iconic Sanxingdui Bronze Standing Figure and features bamboo segments, symbolizing both the enduring legacy of Chinese civilization and the perpetual vitality of sportsmanship.

The “Bamboo Dream” torch showcases green and silver as its primary colors. Green represents the world’s natural foundation, reflecting a commitment to environmental sustainability. Silver signifies technological innovation and progress, highlighting China’s dedication to green development and a shared future with the world.

Through its unique shape, vibrant colors, and intricate patterns, the torch embodies the spirit of the World Games and echoes the relay’s slogan: “Join the World Games, Ignite the Dream.” It not only tells China’s story but also invites the world to come together in the spirit of unity and competition.

Chengdu is set to host the second edition of the World Games from August 7 to 17, 2025. The city is gearing up to welcome athletes and visitors from around the globe, promising an unforgettable celebration of sport and culture.
