A group of young people from nine countries came together in Wuhan, in the Chinese mainland’s Hubei Province, to share their captivating experiences traveling across China. They offered unique perspectives on the country’s rich culture, stunning scenery, and diverse cuisine before attending a screening of the Chinese animated film “Ne Zha 2” on Friday.
Among them was Heydarov Seyidrasul from Azerbaijan, who has explored numerous cities over the past years. “I’ve visited many cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Hefei, and Xi’an,” he shared. “Last year, I invited my parents to China because I believe everyone should visit at least once to experience the culture firsthand. I took them to explore the Forbidden City, climb the Great Wall, and sample a variety of Chinese cuisines, especially hot pot.”
From Samoa, Matulino Taulua Togaga’e expressed his admiration for China’s natural beauty. “What I find most attractive are the beautiful mountains, forests, seas, and lakes. These natural sceneries are truly captivating,” he told CGTN. “I’ve traveled to Harbin in the north and also some cities in the south. I also love the food here, like Lanzhou lamian (hand-pulled noodles), Wuhan’s famous reganmian, or hot and dry noodles, and, of course, hot pot.”
“Before coming to China, I didn’t know much about life here. But now, my expectations and perceptions have completely changed,” he added.
When discussing traditional Chinese culture, Mufzal Aboobucker from Sri Lanka highlighted the significance of the Chinese New Year. “The Chinese New Year is truly remarkable and serves as an excellent example for the world. What’s fascinating is how culture takes on different forms in different places. Every city in China has its own unique cultural identity,” he said.
The event highlighted how international youth are embracing China’s vibrant culture and traditions, and how their firsthand experiences are reshaping perceptions about life in China.
