China’s Top Political Advisors Gear Up for Annual Session

China’s top political advisory body, the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, has opened its 10th standing committee session in Beijing. The meeting, which began on Saturday, aims to prepare for the upcoming annual session scheduled to start on March 4.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the opening session. The committee reviewed and adopted a decision to convene the third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.

During the session, attendees heard explanations on the drafting of a work report by the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee. They also reviewed a report on how proposals from political advisors have been handled since the second session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, among other reports.

The CPPCC plays a crucial role in China’s political system, offering suggestions and feedback on major national policies. The upcoming annual session will gather political advisors from across the country to discuss important issues and contribute to the nation’s development.
