In the ancient city of Xi’an, foreign travelers are stepping back in time at the historic Huaqing Palace. CGTN reporter Rachel Weiss, along with other visitors, immersed themselves in a Tang Dynasty tea ceremony dating back approximately 1,200 years.

Amid the majestic architecture, the guests explored an imperial bathhouse once reserved for emperors, witnessing a fusion of history and luxury. They were greeted with a grand welcome, reminiscent of the splendor of the Tang Dynasty.

“It’s incredible to experience a piece of history firsthand,” shared one traveler. “The tea ceremony, the surroundings—it’s like we’ve been transported back in time.”
