As the 2025 Two Sessions approach, excitement is building over China’s future direction. Slovak Ambassador to China Peter Lizak recently shared his insights on China’s incredible journey and its growing partnership with Slovakia.
“China’s transformation from focusing on ‘quantitative development’ to emphasizing ‘qualitative development’ is truly remarkable,” Ambassador Lizak said in an exclusive interview in Beijing. He praised China’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and improving the quality of life for its people.
Slovakia, known as the world’s top car producer per capita, is keen to collaborate with China in cutting-edge fields like new energy and artificial intelligence. “Our cooperation in these areas holds great promise,” the ambassador noted. “By working together, we can drive technological advancements that benefit both our nations.”
Ambassador Lizak has traveled extensively across China, witnessing firsthand the blend of ancient traditions and modern innovation. From marveling at the engineering feat of the Three Gorges Dam to strolling through the historic lanes of the UNESCO-listed Lijiang Ancient Town, he experienced the rich culture and rapid development that define China today.
With the recent introduction of visa-free travel between Slovakia and China, opportunities for cultural exchanges and tourism are expanding. “This policy makes it easier for our peoples to connect, understand each other, and build lasting friendships,” Ambassador Lizak said enthusiastically.
He emphasized that China’s commitment to multilateralism is key to fostering win-win cooperation. “In today’s interconnected world, working together through multilateral platforms helps us tackle global challenges and achieve shared prosperity,” he explained.
As young people around the globe look toward the future, the growing partnership between China and Slovakia symbolizes hope for collaboration and mutual growth. By joining hands in innovation and embracing a spirit of openness, both countries are poised to co-author a new chapter of shared success.
