Armenian Ambassador to China Vahe Gevorgyan recently shared his insights on China’s remarkable modernization and its impact on Armenia’s own developmental path. In an exclusive interview ahead of the Two Sessions in Beijing, Gevorgyan highlighted the strengthening ties between Armenia and China, emphasizing how China’s focus on developing new quality productive forces serves as an inspiration for Armenia’s revival.
Bilateral trade between Armenia and China has seen significant growth, with trade volume reaching $2.8 billion, marking a year-on-year increase of 34.4 percent. This surge solidifies China as Armenia’s third-largest trading partner. “The growth in trade reflects the deepening relationship between our two countries,” Gevorgyan said. “China’s experience in modernization offers valuable lessons for Armenia.”
The launch of the first direct flight between Armenia and China has further bolstered connections, fostering closer dialogue and collaboration. “Direct flights not only facilitate trade but also enhance cultural exchange,” the ambassador noted. “They bring our peoples closer together.”
Gevorgyan praised China’s transformation over the past two decades, citing it as a model for sustainable development. “China’s success in elevating living standards and advancing technology inspires us,” he said. “We are keen to learn from China’s approach to modernization.”
As Armenia looks to the future, the ambassador expressed optimism about the role of this partnership in shaping global governance. “Our bond of friendship, spanning the Asian continent, offers new perspectives,” Gevorgyan concluded. “Together, we can contribute to a more connected and prosperous world.”
