China’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Europe remains as strong as ever, according to Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress. At a press conference on Tuesday, Lou highlighted the continuous positive trajectory of China-Europe ties, emphasizing the mutual benefits both sides share.
“The healthy and stable development of China-Europe relations aligns with the fundamental and long-term interests of both sides, as well as the common expectations of the international community,” Lou stated. He noted that as 2025 approaches, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union, the partnership has proven to be mutually successful.
“Over the past 50 years, facts have repeatedly shown that there are no fundamental clashes of interest or geopolitical conflicts between China and Europe; rather, we are partners that contribute to each other’s success,” he added.
Lou emphasized that both China and Europe support multilateralism and oppose unilateralism, underlining their shared commitment to global cooperation.
The press conference was held ahead of the opening of the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress, set to commence on Wednesday.
