The Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee has significantly expanded its international engagement, coordinating 221 exchange events involving participants from around the world. The announcement was made by Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, during the opening session of the annual meeting in Beijing on Tuesday.

“We have deepened international exchanges and better served the broader objectives of the Party and the nation,” Wang stated while delivering a work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee.

The CPPCC National Committee and its affiliated organizations hosted events that welcomed 2,600 foreign guests from 140 countries and 11 international and regional organizations. These activities included public diplomacy initiatives, people-to-people exchanges, and think-tank collaborations, highlighting China’s commitment to fostering global cooperation.

One of the major events convened was the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, underscoring the importance of strengthening ties with nations across the African continent.

Wang emphasized the role of these international exchanges in promoting mutual understanding and collaboration. “By engaging with our global partners, we contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind,” he noted.

The CPPCC National Committee’s efforts reflect China’s ongoing dedication to global diplomacy and its active participation in international affairs, particularly in enhancing relationships with countries in the Global South.
