China Stands Firm Against U.S. Missiles in Asia

China has voiced strong opposition to the United States’ plans to deploy medium-range missiles in Asia. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made the statement on Friday, emphasizing that such moves are not welcomed by countries in the region.

“Asia is where China calls home and builds its future. It is also the common home for China and fellow Asian countries,” Wang Yi said during a press conference addressing relations with neighboring countries. “Today’s China is an anchor of stability, engine of economic development, and pillar of regional security in Asia.”

Wang Yi highlighted that the deployment of mid-range missile systems by the U.S. could undermine peace and stability in the region. “We believe that harmony is key to a prosperous family in all endeavors. We remain committed to the vision of a common home, uphold open regionalism, and stick to the goal of building a community with a shared future,” he added.

Regional countries share China’s concerns, according to Wang Yi. The potential deployment has raised questions about the intention behind increasing military presence in Asia and its impact on regional harmony.
