China is set to host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit this autumn in the northern city of Tianjin, as announced by Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday.
Following the Astana summit in July 2024, China assumed the rotating presidency of the SCO for 2024-2025 and will host the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO.
“China will host more than 100 events in fields such as politics, security, and the economy,” Wang Yi stated, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to drawing up a blueprint for development and building consensus on cooperation among member states.
The SCO summit aims to promote the building of a closer community with a shared future, enhancing collaboration in various sectors among its members.
