Wang Yi Historical Logic of China russia Friendship Will Not Change

China’s Wang Yi Reaffirms Unchanging Friendship with Russia

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reaffirmed the steadfast friendship between China and Russia, declaring it a constant amid global changes. Speaking at a press conference on Friday during the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress, Wang emphasized that the historical logic of China-Russia friendship remains unaltered, and its internal driving force endures.

“No matter how the international landscape evolves, the historical logic of the friendship between China and Russia will not change, and its internal driving force will not diminish,” Wang Yi stated.

He highlighted that China and Russia have pioneered a unique path of “non-alliance, non-confrontation, and not targeting any third party” in developing their relations. This approach, he noted, sets a new model for major-country relations and serves as a positive example for neighboring countries.

“A mature, resilient, and stable China-Russia relationship is a constant in a turbulent world rather than a variable in geopolitical games,” Wang said, underscoring the stability of their partnership amid global uncertainties.

Reflecting on history, Wang Yi recalled the significant sacrifices and contributions made by both nations during the World Anti-Fascist War. “China and Russia fought valiantly in the main theaters of Asia and Europe respectively,” he remarked. “The two nations made immense sacrifices and major historic contributions to the victory.”

Wang Yi’s comments reinforce the commitment of China and Russia to maintain a strong bilateral relationship rooted in mutual respect and shared history, while navigating the complexities of the modern world.
