Chinese FM Wang Yi Emphasizes Mutual Respect as Key Asset in China-EU Relations

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted mutual respect as the most valuable asset in the half-century-long relationship between China and the European Union (EU). Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Wang emphasized that mutual benefit, multilateralism, and partnership are the driving forces that have strengthened ties between China and the EU over the past 50 years.

“A healthy and stable China-EU relationship will uplift both sides and contribute to a brighter world,” Wang stated. “China and the EU have the capacity and wisdom to jointly usher in another promising 50 years.”

The Chinese mainland and the EU have been significant trade partners, with initiatives like the China-Europe freight train enhancing connectivity and economic cooperation. The ongoing operation of the China-Europe freight trains marks a milestone in their trade relations, contributing to mutual economic growth.

Wang’s remarks come at a time when global challenges require collaborative efforts. By focusing on mutual respect and shared benefits, China and the EU aim to strengthen their partnership and contribute to global stability and prosperity.
