Panamanian Ambassador Lauds China’s Efficient Two Sessions Mechanism
As China’s annual political season unfolds, global attention turns to its governance processes. Miguel Lecaro, Panama’s ambassador to China, experienced the Two Sessions firsthand for the first time and couldn’t help but express his admiration.
“The coordination and efficiency here are remarkable,” Lecaro stated. “Seeing how multiple affairs are handled simultaneously under one roof is truly impressive.”
The Two Sessions, comprising the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), serve as major platforms for discussing the country’s policies and future direction. For Lecaro, the well-structured mechanisms and seamless organization stood out.
“It’s not just about the scale but also about how effectively everything is managed,” he added. “The sessions exemplify efficient governance that many countries can learn from.”
Lecaro’s observations highlight the growing international interest in China’s political processes, especially from nations in the Global South seeking insights into different models of governance.
