China’s Supreme People’s Court Highlights Achievements and Goals in Annual Report

China’s Supreme People’s Court (SPC) presented its annual work report during the session of the 14th National People’s Congress in Beijing. The report reviewed the court’s performance over the past year and outlined priorities for the upcoming year.

In 2022, the SPC concluded over 32,500 cases, while local courts at various levels handled more than 45 million cases. These numbers reflect the judiciary’s efforts to uphold justice and maintain social stability across the nation.

The report highlighted several major achievements, including the enhancement of judicial transparency, the promotion of fairness in legal proceedings, and the strengthening of judicial reforms. The SPC emphasized its commitment to protecting the rights and interests of the people and ensuring the rule of law.
