Global Survey Praises China’s Economic Growth and Governance

China’s remarkable economic growth and effective governance have earned widespread praise from people around the world, according to a recent survey involving over 25,000 respondents from 41 countries. The survey, conducted by CGTN and Renmin University of China, highlights global recognition of China’s people-centered development and institutional strengths.

In the survey, a staggering 92.3% of respondents applauded China’s economic strength, and 81.3% expressed full confidence in the long-term development of the Chinese economy. Additionally, 89.2% affirmed China’s outstanding contribution to the world economy.

The data showcases China’s impressive achievements in economic development. Over the past year, China’s GDP reached 134.9 trillion yuan ($18.65 trillion), marking a 5% growth rate and ranking among the fastest-growing major economies globally. This steady growth has led to significant improvements in people’s livelihoods.

Employment and prices have remained stable, with 12.56 million new urban jobs created. Per capita disposable income increased by 5.1% in real terms, and social security systems for compulsory education, basic old-age care, basic medical care, and social assistance have been strengthened.

Global respondents praised the effectiveness of the Chinese government’s governance, with 84.3% affirming China’s people-centered development concept. Notably, 78.8% recognized remarkable results in improving education, 70.1% in raising income levels, 63.4% in enhancing living environments, 61% in boosting public health, and 58.1% in improving the natural environment.

The survey also revealed that 62.7% of respondents believe China’s institutional advantages provide an important guarantee for high-level government governance. Furthermore, 71.7% observed that Chinese people’s income is steadily increasing, while 73.9% agreed that the quality of life in China is continuously improving.

Efforts to reduce poverty have been noted by 60.6% of respondents, who believe that China’s poverty population has decreased significantly. In education, 79.5% acknowledged the continuous improvement in quality. Environmental strides were also highlighted, with 59.7% noting improvements in China’s natural environment.

Importantly, 91.9% of respondents believe that, in pursuing modernization, China has adhered to respecting, adapting to, and protecting nature, achieving harmonious coexistence between humans and the natural world.

The survey’s respondents spanned continents, including individuals from North America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, Southeast Asia, East Asia, South and Central Asia, and the Middle East. Participants came from both developed countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Japan, as well as developing countries such as Brazil, Kenya, Mexico, and Indonesia.
