China has renovated over 280,000 residential communities since 2019, benefiting more than 120 million people, Ni Hong, minister of housing and urban-rural development, announced at a press conference on Sunday.
Ni emphasized that the country will continue to advance urban renewal projects as a major initiative to promote high-quality development in urban areas. The goal is to make cities across the nation more livable, smarter, and more resilient.
These urban renewal projects are part of China’s broader strategy to improve living standards and modernize its urban infrastructure. By focusing on community upgrades, the government aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and support sustainable urban growth.
