Beijing, China — Ethiopia’s Ambassador to China, Tefera Derbew Yimam, has applauded China’s remarkable economic achievements and rapid technological advancements, highlighting the potential benefits for African nations.
As China convenes its annual Two Sessions — a major political event where key economic plans are discussed — Ambassador Tefera noted that China’s successful implementation of its economic strategies and its projected 5% GDP growth rate are set to have a significant impact on the global economy.
“China’s progress in technology and economic development offers immense opportunities for Africa,” Ambassador Tefera said. “We need to collaborate closely with China to advance technological development, learn from their experiences, and attract meaningful investment.”
The ambassador emphasized the importance of partnership between African nations and China, suggesting that such collaboration could accelerate innovation and economic growth across the African continent.
“By working together, we can harness technology to address common challenges and drive sustainable development,” he added.
China has been investing heavily in Africa through initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative, focusing on infrastructure, technology, and trade. Ambassador Tefera’s comments reflect a keen interest in deepening these ties to benefit both China and African countries.
