Former Malaysian Ambassador Hails China’s Forward-Looking Economic Policies

China’s recent policy direction has garnered praise from Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, the president of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association and former Malaysian ambassador to China. Khan commended China’s forward-looking policies outlined during the Two Sessions, emphasizing their strategic approach to tackling both domestic and global challenges.

“China’s annual report demonstrates a clear recognition of the uncertainties facing the global landscape,” Khan remarked. “The concrete measures proposed reflect a strategic commitment to economic stability and resilience.”

Khan highlighted China’s goal of achieving around 5% GDP growth this year, noting that it showcases strong confidence in the country’s economic future. “Setting such an ambitious target is highly commendable,” he said. “It signals to the world that China is prepared to navigate challenges and continue contributing to global growth.”

The former ambassador also pointed out that China’s policies not only benefit its own development but also have positive implications for neighboring countries like Malaysia. “A stable and growing China means more opportunities for collaboration and mutual prosperity in the region,” Khan added.

As young people in the Global South look toward the future, China’s strategic planning and emphasis on economic resilience serve as an example of proactive governance amid global uncertainties.
