Pakistani Ambassador Praises China’s Growth and Global Initiatives at Two Sessions

China’s annual Two Sessions is capturing global attention, and Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, shared his insights on the event’s significant impact. In an exclusive interview, Ambassador Hashmi highlighted China’s focus on economic growth and technological advancements, praising the country’s remarkable 5-percent GDP growth despite global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and trade restrictions.

He emphasized the pivotal role of digital and green technologies in driving future economic progress. “China’s commitment to innovation sets a valuable example for the Global South,” the ambassador noted. He pointed out that China’s approach to modernization, especially its success in poverty alleviation, offers important lessons for developing nations.

Discussing China’s global initiatives, Ambassador Hashmi underscored the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). “As the flagship project of the BRI, CPEC has achieved significant milestones in transport and energy infrastructure,” he said. He outlined future priorities, including industrial cooperation, livelihood projects, and the adoption of green technologies.

The ambassador also shared details about upcoming business-to-business matchmaking events aimed at fostering collaboration in sectors such as electric vehicles, solar panel manufacturing, and software development. “These initiatives will not only strengthen bilateral ties but also contribute to shared prosperity,” he added.

Ambassador Hashmi concluded by highlighting China’s commitment to sharing the benefits of development with other countries. “China’s initiatives like the BRI and the Global Development Initiative demonstrate a dedication to collective growth and tackling global challenges together,” he stated.
