Leaders and experts from around the world gathered in Chicago on Monday for the “China in Springtime: Sharing China’s Opportunities with the World Global Dialogue.” The event, hosted by China Media Group (CMG), focused on how China’s high-quality development benefits the global community, emphasizing technological innovation and economic cooperation.
Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, highlighted China’s target of a 5-percent GDP growth rate, noting its contribution to global stability. “China’s confidence injects stability into global development,” he said. Shen emphasized CMG’s commitment to sharing China’s modernization opportunities through innovative platforms like its AI building and ultra-high-definition demonstration park, while promoting cultural exchanges through film and media initiatives.
Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng underscored the momentum of China’s high-quality development showcased during the Two Sessions. He mentioned that China’s 5-percent GDP growth contributed significantly to global growth, pointing to breakthroughs like the DeepSeek AI platform and humanoid robots featured at this year’s Spring Festival Gala. Xie also noted the surge in foreign investment from countries such as the UK, South Korea, and the Netherlands, highlighting China’s expanded openness.
Participants from the technology and investment sectors discussed China’s achievements in innovation, including advancements in AI and new energy vehicles. They emphasized the complementary strengths of the United States and China in innovation and manufacturing, identifying vast potential for collaboration in areas like energy transition, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicles.
Pat Quinn, former governor of Illinois, shared his positive experiences with China’s economic development. He noted the innovative vitality of China and expressed that both the United States and China value technological advancement. “We should work together to tackle global challenges, enhance lives through technological progress, and build a better world,” Quinn said.
