BEIJING – Thunderous applause filled the Great Hall of the People during the Two Sessions as Chinese Premier Li Qiang reaffirmed the government’s unwavering support for the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ policy. He emphasized plans to further integrate the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) into the nation’s overall development.
Nicholas Chan Hiu-fung, a lawyer and deputy to the National People’s Congress from HKSAR, shared his vision on harnessing Hong Kong’s full potential. Speaking with CGTN, Chan highlighted the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future.
“AI technology is not just a tool for innovation; it’s a bridge that can connect China to the world,” Chan remarked. He believes that by embracing AI, Hong Kong can enhance its global standing and foster deeper international connections.
Chan urged young people in Hong Kong to engage with emerging technologies actively. “The youth are the catalysts for change. By equipping ourselves with AI knowledge, we can drive progress and contribute to both our region and the global community,” he said.
With the government’s support and a focus on technological advancement, many are optimistic about Hong Kong’s future. The integration of AI could be the key to unlocking new opportunities and strengthening ties across borders.
