China’s top sports authority has officially launched the selection process for a new head coach of the national women’s volleyball team. The announcement, made on Tuesday, invites qualified candidates to submit their applications before March 25.
The ideal candidate should possess a clear coaching style, exceptional management skills, and extensive coaching experience to lead the team in major competitions such as the World Championship, Asian Games, and the Summer Olympics during the 2025-2028 cycle.
Under the leadership of Coach Cai Bin, who took the helm in February 2022, the team reached the quarterfinals at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. He also guided the squad to the finals of the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League and secured a gold medal at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, in 2023.
The search for a new head coach signals China’s commitment to strengthening its women’s volleyball team on the international stage and continuing its legacy of excellence in the sport.
