Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged Yunnan Province to forge new paths in development as part of China’s modernization efforts. During his visit to the southwestern province on Wednesday and Thursday, Xi encouraged local leaders to capitalize on Yunnan’s unique strengths and opportunities.
\”We must open new ground for development and strive for progress in the pursuit of Chinese modernization,\” Xi said during meetings with provincial officials. He emphasized the importance of innovation, ecological protection, and cultural heritage in driving Yunnan’s growth.
Yunnan, known for its rich biodiversity and diverse ethnic cultures, holds a strategic position in China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Xi’s visit highlights the central government’s focus on incorporating border regions into the nation’s broader development plans.
Local residents welcomed Xi’s attention to the province. \”It’s inspiring to see national leaders prioritizing our region,\” said Li Mei, a university student in Kunming. \”We have so much potential here, and this gives us hope for a brighter future.\”
As China continues to pursue modernization, Yunnan is poised to play a significant role in fostering sustainable development and strengthening connections with neighboring countries.
