The China Coast Guard (CCG) expelled four Japanese fishing vessels that had unlawfully entered China’s territorial waters off Diaoyu Dao between March 21 and 24, according to a statement released on Monday.
Liu Dejun, spokesperson for the CCG, stated that the Japanese boats were operating without permission in the area. The CCG took necessary measures to enforce China’s sovereignty and maintain order in its territorial waters.
“We urge the Japanese side to respect China’s territorial sovereignty and avoid any actions that could harm bilateral relations,” Liu said.
Diaoyu Dao, located in the East China Sea, is a territory administered by China. The area is known for its strategic importance and rich fishing grounds, making it a focal point in regional maritime activities.
The CCG emphasized its commitment to safeguarding China’s maritime rights and interests, asserting that it will continue to monitor the area closely to ensure lawful conduct in its waters.
