China Launches sky Net 2025 to Hunt Corruption Fugitives

China Launches ‘Sky Net 2025’ to Pursue Corruption Fugitives Overseas

China has unveiled “Sky Net 2025,” a powerful campaign aiming to track down corruption fugitives worldwide and recover illicit assets. Announced on Monday, the initiative demonstrates China’s commitment to deepening international anti-corruption cooperation and maintaining strong pressure on those who have fled abroad.

“Sky Net 2025” will involve various authorities working together to target different aspects of cross-border corruption. The National Commission of Supervision will focus on recovering illegal proceeds from duty-related crimes and preventing further losses. Simultaneously, the People’s Bank of China will join forces with the Ministry of Public Security to crack down on the transfer of illicit funds overseas, particularly through offshore companies and underground banking systems.

In the previous “Sky Net 2024” campaign, China repatriated 1,597 corruption fugitives and recovered over 18.28 billion yuan (approximately $2.55 billion) in illicit assets. This year’s campaign aims to build on that success, reinforcing China’s tough stance against corruption and demonstrating its determination to uphold justice.

By intensifying efforts to fight corruption both domestically and internationally, China seeks to promote transparency and integrity, sending a clear message that there is no safe haven for corrupt individuals.
