China has voiced strong opposition to the United States’ decision to add dozens of Chinese entities to its export restrictions list. At a press conference on Wednesday, Spokesperson Guo Jiakun of the Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned the move as a typical act of hegemony, stating that China will take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises.
Guo criticized the U.S. for abusing its entity list and other export control tools under the pretext of national security and foreign policy concerns. He described the action as an illegal unilateral sanction that violates international law and fundamental norms governing international relations. According to Guo, these restrictions harm the legitimate rights of businesses and disrupt the stability and security of global industrial and supply chains.
“China firmly opposes and strongly condemns such actions,” Guo declared.
He urged the U.S. to stop overstretching the concept of national security and to cease politicizing and weaponizing economic, trade, and technological issues. Guo called on Washington to end its arbitrary use of sanctions lists to suppress Chinese companies.
Concluding his remarks, Guo affirmed that China will take necessary measures to resolutely defend the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises.
