The Chinese mainland has launched an online platform allowing the public to report activities promoting “Taiwan independence” and those assisting in persecuting Taiwan compatriots, a spokesperson announced on Wednesday.
The new reporting section, added to the official website of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, aims to hold key separatist individuals accountable, according to Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the office.
“This platform is designed to gather information on vile acts by ‘Taiwan independence’ advocates and their accomplices,” Chen stated. “It underscores our commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
The move reflects the Chinese mainland’s ongoing efforts to counter separatist movements and promote peaceful cross-strait relations.
