The Chinese mainland’s newly launched online platform for reporting acts by those advocating “Taiwan independence” has received 323 emails as of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson.
Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, announced that among those reported are certain political figures in Taiwan, organization sponsors, and internet influencers promoting “Taiwan independence.”
The reports highlight egregious activities, including the suppression of opposition parties through baseless charges, intimidation aimed at dissolving organizations supporting China’s reunification, and blatant infringement on the legitimate rights of mainland-born spouses residing in Taiwan.
“We will take facts as the basis and the law as the criterion,” Chen stated. “Perpetrators and accomplices of ‘Taiwan independence’ activities will be held accountable.”
