China’s Vice Premier Meets Global Leaders at Boao Forum

Boao, Hainan Province – Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang held talks with several foreign leaders on Wednesday at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025, focusing on strengthening ties and cooperation across various sectors.

Ding met with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, emphasizing China’s commitment to working with Laos to support each other’s core interests and enhance practical cooperation. Sonexay expressed Laos’ dedication to advancing the Laos-China community with a shared future.

In discussions with Aren B. Palik, Vice President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Ding called for expanded collaboration in trade, investment, infrastructure, and the marine economy, while jointly tackling climate change challenges. Palik reaffirmed the FSM’s adherence to the one-China principle and its support for China’s positions on matters concerning the Taiwan question, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and the South China Sea.

Ding also met with Mongolia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development, Luvsannyam Gantumur. They highlighted the enduring friendship between the neighboring countries and its alignment with the fundamental interests of both peoples. Gantumur expressed Mongolia’s willingness to deepen cooperation in connectivity, energy resources, and high-tech sectors.

In a meeting with Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, Ding advocated for joint efforts to implement the outcomes of the recent 12th Meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Cooperation Committee. Sklyar conveyed Kazakhstan’s readiness to work closely with China to elevate bilateral ties to new heights.

Marking the 75th anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic relations, Ding spoke with Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono. They agreed to enhance strategic synergy and pursue new breakthroughs in practical cooperation. Agus affirmed Indonesia’s commitment to deepening and expanding cooperation across various sectors.

When meeting with Portugal’s Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel, Ding emphasized China’s dedication to mutual respect and trust, expressing readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. Rangel praised Macao’s prosperity and steady development since its return to China and pledged to deepen practical cooperation with China.

The Boao Forum for Asia serves as a platform for dialogue among leaders, aiming to promote regional economic integration and bring Asian countries closer to their development goals.
