Chinese vice premier Zhang Guoqing has called on nations around the world to collaborate in science and technology to drive innovation and tackle global challenges. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing, Zhang emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial partnerships in shaping a better future.
Zhang highlighted China’s commitment to innovation-driven development, noting the progress made in integrating science, technology, and industrial advancement. He expressed China’s willingness to explore new models of global sci-tech cooperation that can lead to shared growth and address issues like climate change.
“We are ready to work with other countries to harness the power of sci-tech innovation,” Zhang said. “Together, we can develop new quality productive forces and promote mutual benefit and win-win cooperation among nations.”
The Zhongguancun Forum, themed “New Quality Productive Forces and Global Technology Cooperation,” brings together leaders and innovators from around the world to discuss the future of technology and its role in global development.
With the world facing pressing challenges, Zhang’s call for collaboration underscores the need for young innovators and leaders, especially in the Global South, to engage in global partnerships that can drive positive change.
