In a groundbreaking fusion of technology and fashion, Unitree Robotics’ humanoid robot G1 and its robotic dog companion made a spectacular appearance at Shanghai Fashion Week on Wednesday. The innovative showcase was presented by avant-garde label NMTG, transforming the traditional catwalk into an immersive performance art experience.

The futuristic moment unfolded after the models concluded their walk. Suddenly, a robotic dog captivated the audience by performing a mid-stage flip, revealing a custom-designed outfit. Then, the G1 humanoid robot came to life, interacting with a model dressed in blue. The model shook the robot’s hand and adorned it with a 3D-printed necklace shaped like a deer, symbolizing harmony and hope.

Xu Shangxi, the creative director behind the show, was inspired by Unitree’s viral Chinese New Year performance, where the G1 robot dazzled viewers with traditional dance moves. “I wanted to explore the symbiosis of nature, humanity, and technology,” Xu explained.

This collaborative event between Unitree Robotics, NMTG, and Shanghai Fashion Week blurred the lines between technology and culture. As Xu expressed, “This isn’t just a show; it’s a manifesto for the future.”

The Unitree G1 is an advanced humanoid robot developed by China’s Unitree Robotics, showcasing remarkable agility and precision. Equipped with AI-driven, full-body motion control, it can perform dynamic movements such as dancing, spinning handkerchiefs, and executing coordinated routines with human-like dexterity.
