Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is gearing up for an important trip to Russia from March 31 to April 2, following an invitation from his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. The visit aims to bolster the strong ties between China and Russia, two nations that are key players on the global stage.
Speaking at a news briefing on Friday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun emphasized the close partnership between China and Russia. “We are comprehensive strategic partners of coordination for a new era,” Guo said. “Under the guidance of our leaders, we maintain a lasting friendship and work together strategically and cooperatively.”
The two countries are deepening their collaboration across various areas, contributing significantly to each other’s growth and upholding international norms, according to Guo.
During his visit, Wang Yi will meet with Russian leaders and hold discussions with Lavrov. The agenda includes implementing agreements made by their heads of state and engaging in in-depth conversations on developing China-Russia relations further, as well as addressing international and regional issues of shared interest.
“This visit is an opportunity for both sides to strengthen our partnership,” Guo noted.
