Organizers to Take Submissions for Chinas 15th National Winter Games

Design Contest Launched for China’s 15th National Winter Games

The organizing committee of the 15th National Winter Games of China is inviting ideas and designs for the event’s slogan, emblem, and mascot. From April 1 to March 30, individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to submit their creative concepts, according to the government of Liaoning province, the host of the upcoming games.

Scheduled for 2028, the games aim to embody the key themes of “green,” “share,” “vitality,” and “fusion.” Designers are encouraged to reflect these concepts in their submissions, conveying the Olympic spirit and traditional Chinese sportsmanship. The creations should also showcase Liaoning’s unique cultural features while remaining simple and catchy.

“We view hosting the 15th National Winter Games as an opportunity to further promote winter sports throughout the province,” said Wang Dong, deputy chief of the Liaoning Provincial Sports Bureau. “As a province with natural advantages for winter sports, Liaoning must inherit the precious legacies from ‘engaging 300 million Chinese people in winter sports’ following the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.”

Submissions will be accepted until March 30, and selection results will be announced before September 30. Creators of the selected designs will receive cash rewards: 10,000 yuan (about $1,375) for the slogan, and 50,000 yuan (about $6,875) each for the emblem and mascot.

“By hosting these games, we aim to establish a better system of fitness activities, encouraging people in Liaoning to build better health through winter sports,” Wang added.
