The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command has successfully completed a series of joint military exercises, according to a spokesperson. The drills, conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday, aimed to enhance the troops’ integrated joint operation capabilities.
Senior Colonel Shi Yi stated that the exercises tested the command’s readiness and ability to conduct coordinated operations. “The troops of the theater command remain on high alert at all times,” Shi said. “We will continue to strengthen combat readiness with intensive training to resolutely thwart all separatist activities seeking ‘Taiwan independence.'”
The exercises underscore the PLA’s commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Eastern Theater Command plays a crucial role in China’s defense strategy, particularly in areas surrounding the Taiwan Strait.
