China’s top political advisor, Wang Huning, met with the speaker of the Finnish parliament, Jussi Halla-aho, on Monday to discuss strengthening ties between the two nations.
Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), highlighted the steady and positive development of China-Finland relations over the past 75 years since establishing diplomatic ties. He expressed China’s readiness to work with Finland to enhance political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, and deepen people-to-people exchanges.
“China and Finland have a long history of friendly relations,” Wang said. “We are committed to enriching our future-oriented cooperative partnership.”
Halla-aho acknowledged China’s significant role on the global stage, noting its dynamic economy. “Finland is keen to enhance cooperation with China to boost our bilateral relations and strengthen ties between Europe and China,” he said.
The meeting signifies both countries’ commitment to fostering stronger connections and collaborating on international matters.
