China Adds Six U.S. Firms to Unreliable Entity List Over Taiwan Ties

Beijing, China—China’s Ministry of Commerce announced on Wednesday that six U.S. companies have been added to its unreliable entity list, effective from 12:01 p.m. on Thursday. The firms listed are Shield AI, Inc., Sierra Nevada Corporation, Cyberlux Corporation, Edge Autonomy Operations LLC, Group W, and Hudson Technologies Co.

The ministry stated that despite strong opposition from China, these companies have participated in arms sales to Taiwan or engaged in military technology cooperation with the Taiwan region in recent years. A spokesperson emphasized that such actions seriously undermine China’s national sovereignty, security, and development interests.

“China holds the six firms accountable for their unlawful activities in accordance with relevant laws and regulations,” the spokesperson said. “We handle issues related to the unreliable entity list prudently and only target the very few foreign entities that undermine China’s national security.”

The spokesperson reassured international businesses, stating, “There is nothing to worry about for honest and law-abiding foreign entities. The Chinese government welcomes companies from all countries to invest and operate in China. We are committed to providing a stable, fair, and predictable business environment for foreign enterprises that operate in accordance with laws and regulations.”

This move highlights the ongoing tensions between China and the United States over the Taiwan region. It serves as a warning to foreign companies about engaging in activities that China perceives as threatening to its core interests.
