China Adds 12 Us Entities to Export Control List

China Bans Exports to 12 U.S. Tech Firms in Latest Trade Move

In a notable turn of events, China has decided to ban exports of certain items to 12 U.S. tech firms, the Ministry of Commerce announced on Wednesday. The move, effective from April 10 at 12:01 p.m., prohibits the export of dual-use items—goods that can be used for both civilian and military purposes—to these companies.

The targeted firms include American Photonics, Novotech Inc., Echodyne, Marvin Engineering Company Inc., Exovera, Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc., BRINC Drones Inc., SYNEXXUS Inc., Firestorm Labs Inc., Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems Inc., Domo Tactical Communications, and Insitu Inc.

The Ministry has instructed that any ongoing exports to these entities must be halted immediately. Exporters who find it necessary to continue shipments in special cases must apply for approval.

“This decision is made in accordance with our nation’s laws and regulations,” a spokesperson from the Ministry said. “We are committed to ensuring that all exporters comply with these control measures.”

This development adds a new dimension to the trade relations between China and the United States. Dual-use items are particularly sensitive as they can contribute to military advancements.
