The Chinese Foreign Ministry has urged the United States to approach tariff negotiations with an attitude of equality, respect, and mutual benefit. Speaking on Wednesday, spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks in response to Washington’s recent imposition of additional tariffs on Chinese goods entering the country.
“China firmly opposes the excessive tariffs imposed by the U.S. and will never accept such bullying actions,” Lin said. He emphasized that if the U.S. genuinely wishes to resolve issues through dialogue and negotiation, it must adopt a fair and respectful approach.
Lin warned that if the U.S. continues to disregard the interests of both nations and insists on escalating the trade dispute, China is prepared to respond accordingly. “China’s response will continue to the end,” he stated.
The call for mutual respect and equitable negotiations highlights the ongoing tensions between the world’s two largest economies. The trade conflict has implications not only for China and the U.S. but also for the global economy, affecting markets and industries worldwide.
