Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has cautioned the United States against “reckless actions” that could disrupt global stability. Speaking on Friday after meeting with Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Wang highlighted concerns over unilateral moves by “a certain major country.”
“The involvement of a certain major country in unilateral bullying is one of the key factors contributing to the current international landscape marked by turbulence and chaos,” Wang stated.
He criticized recent U.S. trade policies, saying, “Given that the United States is wielding the tariff stick recently, it is blatantly putting its own interests above the common interests of all countries and ignoring the multilateral trading system and established rules.”
Wang emphasized that the international community “should not sit by” and allow such actions to go unchecked. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to defending not only its own legitimate rights and interests but also the common interests of the global community.
“As a responsible member of the international community, China stands firm to ensure that humanity is not dragged back into a jungle world where might makes right,” he said.
Looking ahead to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Wang called for collective efforts to uphold the international system centered around the UN and the international order based on international law.
“China is willing to work together with other countries to jointly resist all retrogressive actions in the world,” Wang concluded.
