Qingdao Knock out Zhejiang to Advance to Cba Playoffs Quarterfinals

Qingdao Eagles Soar Over Zhejiang Golden Bulls to Reach CBA Quarterfinals

The Qingdao Eagles secured their spot in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) quarterfinals on Thursday night, defeating the Zhejiang Golden Bulls 103-91 in a thrilling Game 3 at home in Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province.

Leading the charge for Qingdao were Quinndary Weatherspoon and Yang Hansen, whose dynamic performances dominated the court. Weatherspoon delivered an impressive triple-double with 24 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, and five steals. Yang added a formidable double-double, contributing 24 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks.

The Eagles established an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead 24-13, and expanded their advantage to 21 points in the third quarter, reaching 69-48. Despite a spirited comeback attempt by Zhejiang’s Gabe York and Cheng Shuaipeng, who sank several three-pointers to narrow the gap to 76-70, the Golden Bulls couldn’t maintain their momentum.

Early in the fourth quarter, Zhejiang faced challenges as starting center Yu Jiahao received his fifth personal foul, limiting his impact on the game. Qingdao capitalized on this, with Weatherspoon and Yang propelling the team to a commanding 18-point lead at 101-83 with under two minutes remaining, effectively sealing their victory.

York led Zhejiang with 28 points but struggled from long range, missing seven of ten three-point attempts. While three of his teammates scored in double figures, none surpassed 15 points.

With this win, the Qingdao Eagles advance to face the regular-season champions, the Guangsha Lions, in the upcoming quarterfinals.
