Lao Airlines has made aviation history by completing its first commercial flight using China’s domestically produced C909 aircraft. The inaugural flight, QV331, took off from the Lao capital Vientiane on Saturday and smoothly landed at Pakse International Airport.
The C909 aircraft was delivered to Lao Airlines on March 30, marking its official entry into the Lao aviation market. Featuring interior and exterior signage in Lao and a custom-designed livery, the aircraft reflects the rich culture and heritage of Laos.
Manufactured by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd., the C909 boasts excellent high-temperature performance and the capability to take off and land on short and narrow runways. These features make it ideally suited for operating in Southeast Asia’s diverse environments.
Passengers aboard the maiden flight praised the aircraft’s comfort and modern amenities. Aviation enthusiasts in the region are excited about the potential improvements in connectivity and travel experience the C909 brings to Southeast Asia.
