President Xi Jinping Arrives in Hanoi for Landmark State Visit

Hanoi, Vietnam — Chinese President Xi Jinping touched down in Hanoi on Monday, kicking off a significant state visit to Vietnam. This marks his fourth visit to the country, underscoring the deepening ties between the two neighboring nations.

Upon his arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, President Xi expressed his pleasure at revisiting Vietnam at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. In a written statement, he extended warm greetings on behalf of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese government, and the Chinese people to the CPV, the Vietnamese government, and the people of Vietnam.

“This year holds special significance,” President Xi noted, highlighting the 95th anniversary of the founding of the CPV, the 80th anniversary of the founding of modern Vietnam, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South. He praised Vietnam’s steadfast progress, applauding the improved living standards, growing influence on the global stage, and remarkable strides in socialist industrialization and modernization.

President Xi expressed confidence in Vietnam’s future, saying, “Under the strong leadership of the CPV Central Committee led by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will surely continue on its path of socialist development, achieving the goals set forth by the 13th National Congress of the CPV and paving the way for the 14th National Congress.”

Emphasizing the unique bond between China and Vietnam, President Xi reflected on their shared history. “As socialist neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, our countries have forged a profound friendship through years of striving for national independence and liberation,” he said. “We have learned from each other and advanced hand in hand, demonstrating to the world the bright prospects of the socialist system.”

Looking ahead, President Xi highlighted the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025 and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. “These milestones present new opportunities to advance the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future,” he said. “Standing at a new historical starting point, China is ready to work with Vietnam to seize the opportunities of our times, deepening cooperation for the benefit of our peoples and contributing more to the region and the world.”

During his visit, President Xi plans to engage in in-depth discussions with Vietnamese leaders on issues of global impact and strategic significance. “I look forward to drawing up a new blueprint for our shared future,” he affirmed.

Concluding his statement, President Xi wished Vietnam continued prosperity and extended his hope that the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam would be passed down through generations. “May our efforts to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future yield new and greater achievements,” he declared.
